For more than two decades, to see Phish in 3-D, fans had to dust off their hemp necklaces and actually go to a concert venue.
No more.
Thanks to the resurgence of 3-D movies, phans can now enjoy the concert film "Phish 3D" at three locations in the Southland. Hemp necklace optional.
The film, which opens Friday, follows the band's three-day Halloween festival at the Empire Polo Club in Indio. The band played eight sets that weekend, including a full cover of The Rolling Stones' "Exile On Main Street" album.
In between concert footage, the film promises "intimate footage of the band backstage and in rehearsals."
"Phish 3D" runs more than two hours and will remain in theaters for one week.
