Pina Coladas, Wind in Our Hair, Smooth, Smooth Sounds

Here comes Memorial Day weekend, and with it, the start of summer-ish days, and with those, thoughts of lounging provocatively on some gorgeous big-bucks boat off a nearby island. We're sipping rose and the 8-track is softly, sweetly, playing the hits of the late '70s and early '80s. The smell of suntan lotion is pungent. A seagull cries.

If you like pina coladas and getting caught in the rain -- and let's be honest, who doesn't? -- then you'll probably want to get on deck with the Knights of Monte Carlo. The band is romancing, oh so gently, The Key Club on Thursday, May 21, with its special brand of Yacht Rockery. The tunes start at 10PM, and there's a cheese and cracker reception at 9PM. Will you be wearing a lemon-yellow sundress (ladies get in free) or your favorite monogrammed blazer? Docksiders and drawstring slacks? Plan your outfit and put cheese to cracker.

And whether you call the winsome era of Kenny Loggins and Hall & Oates and Christopher Cross Yacht Rock or soft rock or AM sounds, just call it. We're fans of its dreamy, have-a-good-time, it's-all-cool-man 'tude, and we don't even have to be on a boat to summon that sunny feeling. "I'm All Right" indeed.
