"THE HUNGER" and "RHINESTONE": Two truly one-of-a-kind offerings, two nights, one theater: Silent Movie. "The Hunger," in a handful of words or less -- we could probably write a novella -- boasts the lovely-to-gaze-upon triumverate of David Bowie, Susan Sarandon, and Catherine Deneuve. When you hear the words "lesbian vampire movie" this is usually the movie being referred to. Friday, February 6, midnight. The following night brings the sparkle of "Rhinestone," an over-the-top musicale extravaganza with Dolly Parton and Sylvester Stallone. There's singing, sassing and dreams-coming-true-ing. The great Bob Clark of "A Christmas Story" directed. Saturday, February 7, 10:30PM. Silent Movie Theatre, 611 N. Fairfax Avenue, Los Angeles. 323-655-2510

"SHOWGIRLS": Oh, it's taken its lumps over the years. It's been reenacted by less-than-serious thespians, treated to "Mystery Science Theatre"-type talkbacks, featured on "Rocky Horror"-esque dress-up nights. But this glittery confection is so completely, wonderfully of its time -- mid-1990s -- and we like vintage mid-1990s. Plus, Kyle MacLachlan. Plus, Gina Gershon. Oh boy, such the cast, and Paul Verhoeven and Joe Eszterhas doing the helming/scribing honors. Talk about your midnight snack. Friday, February 6, midnight (well, 11:55PM, actually). Art Theatre of Long Beach, 2025 E. Fourth Street, Long Beach. 562-438-5435
