Back in the day -- let's call "the day" here like 1991 -- if you obsessed on a bathing suit from "Baywatch" or a wacky hat spied on the head of "Blossom," you were basically doomed to never know where to buy the blasted thing. Sure, the internet was around -- we remember it was kind of glowing and green and blinky -- but there was no one advising on shops or designers or anything that you might need to know.
Zoom forward a good chunk of time, to right about now, and to the Entertainment Weekly Style Hunter, which is fast becoming a favorite feature of ours in a magazine plum-full of delicious nuggets of tidbittery (dear EW, please keep Stephen King's column forever and ever). Maybe it is because we personally take most of our style cues from television and movies -- what, we can't help it, we're practically zombies when it comes to those two phenomena directing our every iota of our existence -- that we like reading where to get a "Private Practice" character's necklace, or that the "Ugly Betty" shower curtain is available at Target.com.
Quick aside: Whitney Port's couch, according to Style Hunter, is a hang-onto-your cushions $12,685. But everything else in the feature? Much, much, much more affordable.
The Style Hunter can maybe even be a little too popular; the springtime-y purple polish Ginnifer Goodwin flashes in "He's Just Not That Into You" is now sold out. But at least you'll know where to get it, when the company restocks.
