Tonight: The Hold Steady

The Brooklyn outfit rocks the Grammy Museum.

THE HOLD STEADY: Good, solid rocking is always a welcome thing. More so on a Monday. More so when the purveyors of the rock have a new album coming out ("Heaven is Whenever" debuts tomorrow). More so when it all happens at the intimate Grammy Museum, where there will be band chitchat, too. 8 p.m.

DAUGHTRY: As this season's "American Idol" finale fast approaches, aspirants probably keep in mind that major "AI"-ers like Chris Daughtry are now playing mega venues like the Nokia Theatre. Which he's doing tonight, with his band.

SOUTH AFRICAN WINE TASTING: It's a fine evening to try over 50 wines from South African growers; every evening would be a fine evening, actually, but Monday ups the fineness. Vinoteque on Melrose leads the lovely, libation-y lecture.
