What You're Doing Tonight: April 9th

THREE NIGHTS OF TRAVIS: The sounds of this fan-garnering Scottish band are expansive, very often sweeping, a tad Beatle-y from time to time. We should also mention that they are plum full of emotion and a light sort of lilt that is probably much, much harder to achieve than at first glance (or listen). And we don't use the term "fan-garnering" lightly -- or liltingly -- either. Every Travis devotee we've met, heard of, read about or come across is with the art-loving, alt-loving outfit for the long haul, which speaks to this band's beautiful music. They're starting in the OC on Thursday, April 9, and then heading for LA for two nights. Thursday, April 9, House of Blues Anaheim, 1530 Disneyland Drive, Anaheim. 714-778-2583

ALSO ON THURSDAY, APRIL 9: Bordello Bar wigs out over "Wig Out," a cabaret-ish kind of hoedown (wear something curly/purple/fabulous atop your noggin and get a few bucks off your admission); Shepard Fairey's designed a bevy of new skateboards, and there's a party to celebrate at La Cita; and Lila Downs, the woman behind much of the haunting music of the movie "Frida," sings at Royce Hall at UCLA.
