A preliminary magnitude-3.8 earthquake struck Wednesday at 11:40 p.m. about 7 miles west-southwest of Corona in Riverside County, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

Comments flooded the NBCLA Facebook page in the minutes after the quake, readers sharing their experience.
Sherene Ghazvinian lives in south Corona.
"I was watching TV and I thought a car crashed into the house. I looked up and the fan was swinging and the chandeliers above the breakfast and dining room tables were swinging pretty violently. I ran upstairs to check on my son and husband and had a panic attack. I know it was only 3.8, but it felt bigger," Ghazvinian said.
Many of the readers who said they felt it live in Riverside County.
"Felt it in Elsinore... I could hear it coming before I fully felt it. It was like a stampede of horses heading my way," Lake Elsinore resident Kim Chavez said.

Others echoed Chavez's thoughts.
"Felt here in Menifee area too! Felt like thunder rumbling in the walls, then felt the shake," Menifee resident Vivian Teal said.
The earthquake comes 22 hours after a magnitude-4.4 earthquake struck just north of Fontana in San Bernardino County.

The epicenter of the two quakes are approximately 36 miles apart.
There were no immediate reports of major damage or injuries.
