Starting Monday, nighttime commuters will be affected by lane closures on the 91 Freeway.
The Riverside County Transportation Commission is extending toll lanes on the 91 between the Orange County and Riverside County lines and the 15 Freeway, as well as adding a regular lane between the 71 Freeway and the 15. As a result, certain lanes will close between Monday, Oct. 2 and Friday, Oct. 6.
The RCTC says the following lanes will be closed:
• The Southbound 15 Freeway to the westbound 91 Freeway connector will be closed Oct. 2 and 5 from 8 p.m. to 4:30 a.m., and will close again Oct. 6 starting at 9 p.m. through 7 a.m. the next day. As a detour, drivers are advised to take the eastbound 91 Freeway and exit on McKinley Street to reenter the westbound 91.
• The southbound 71 Freeway to the eastbound 91 Freeway connector will close Oct. 3 from 9 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. the next day. As a detour, drivers are advised to take the westbound 91 and exit on Green River Road to reenter on the eastbound 91.
