Armed Man Wanted in Carjacking and Kidnapping on UCLA Campus

A gunman who kidnapped a person and carjacked a vehicle on the UCLA campus had still not been found Thursday.

The victim, who was not affiliated with the school, was abducted about 5:30 a.m. Monday near the Center for Health Sciences building, the campus police department reported.

The victim, whose name was not released, "was held for several hours prior to being released," according to a police statement which said the abductee was uninjured.

The suspect was described as being about 30-years-old, five feet eight inches tall and about 200 pounds, with brown hair, a mustache and a goatee. He had also injured his left elbow before the crime Monday, UCLA police said in a statement.

The car, which is still missing, is a beige four-door 2007 Subaru Impreza WRX, license number 6ATF802.

Anyone with information on the crime was urged to call detectives at 310-825-1491.
