Canoga Park Elementary School and early education center were placed on lockdown Tuesday morning as police investigated a suspicious package.
Los Angeles Unified School District spokeswoman Ellen Morgan said the object was thought to be an unaccompanied piece of luggage, but the schools were placed on lockdown as a precaution.
Both Los Angeles School Police and LAPD responded to the object, and the bomb squad investigated.
It was determined to indeed be a piece of unaccompanied luggage and the lockdown was lifted before 11 a.m.
It was initially reported Canoga Park High School was on lockdown, but officials have since said the campus is operating normally.
