A car slammed into two disabled cars whose occupants were being treated by first-responders on the side of the 5 Freeway in Santa Ana early Sunday morning, authorities said.
Medical technicians from the Orange County Fire Authority was responding to two patients involved in a two-car collision just north of the 55 Freeways at 2:30 a.m. when a third car rammed into the disabled cars, which had pulled to the side of the road, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Four patients were examined by the OCFA and one was transported to a hospital with moderate injuries, the CHP reported.
Alcohol is believed to have been a factor in the multi-car collision, which is still under investigation, according to the CHP.
