A pursuit driver was speeding the wrong way Wednesday morning on a Carson street when the car went into a spin, rolled onto its side and slammed into a parked van.
The chase began in the South Los Angeles area and reached speeds up to 120 mph. It ended after the driver turned around and went the wrong way on a freeway entrance ramp, then clipped a median on the wrong side of the road and crashed into a van.
The driver appeared to be smoking a cigarette and talking on a cellphone in the car during a brief standoff. After he got out, officers used a stun gun on him before he was taken into custody.
The driver was wanted for speeding.
