Saturdays service at the DMV already started in June in select locations, but now the California Department of Motor Vehicles announced even more locations would be open every Saturday.
Now all services, except behind-the-wheel exams, will be offered at 60 offices throughout the state, it was announced Wednesday.
DMV officials said they were hoping by opening up shop on Saturdays that it would help improve waiting times throughout the state. Offices would still remain closed Sundays.
The offices will be open every Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
It is recommended that people make an appointment in advance through the DMV page or call 1-800-777-0133. Users who are going to request a REAL ID should visit the page realid.dmv.ca.gov to view the required documents.
