Dozens Protest LAPD Shooting of Ezell Ford

Ezell Ford was shot and killed by police during a confrontation in South Los Angeles on Monday

Some three dozen sign-waving protesters rallied on Friday in front of the LAPD's Newton Station in South South Los Angeles to decry the fatal police shooting Monday of 25-year-old Ezell Ford.

The protesters were peaceful and no arrests were reported, police said.

"I'm hurt," said his brother, Lavell. "I don't know where my heart is right now."

The Friday march came a day after hundreds of people marched in South LA to protest the shooting.

It also came after civil rights activists called on the LAPD to do a swift and transparent investigation into the case to ensure it is fair.

The rally Thursday coincided with protests held nationally in the name of Michael Brown, an unarmed black teen fatally shot by police in Ferguson, Missouri.
