Festering Garbage Near LA School Cleared

Elizabeth Hammond says one of her students at 96th Street Elementary School in Watts stepped on a dead rat in the auditorium and calls to city officials went unanswered for months. A call from NBC4 prompted sanitation officials to visit the dumping ground and send out cleaning crews in time for the new school year to start. Stephanie Elam reports from Watts for the NBC4 News at 6 p.m. on Aug. 21, 2012.
