A Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services worker was burned in a chemical attack at the department's Santa Fe Springs office Wednesday, police said.
The employee was at 10355 Slusher Drive about 4:25 p.m. when someone tossed the chemical onto her arm, Lt. Bryan Ellis of the Whittier Police Department said.
The employee washed her hands before paramedics arrived. She was taken to Presbyterian Intercommunity Hospital in Whittier with burns to both arms and one hand, Santa Fe Springs Fire Department Chief Brent Hayward said.
Police were searching for the attacker.
No further details were immediately available.
