A fiery crash backing up traffic on the southbound 405 Freeway Friday morning in Inglewood left a man dead, officials said.
Three lanes of the freeway were closed near La Tijera Boulevard, according to the California Highway Patrol, which confirmed that one person had died in the crash.
A SIG Alert was issued just before 8 a.m. the crash took place at 7:44 a.m., a CHP representative said. Two vehicles were involved in the crash, and the second driver was uninjured.
The crash hadn't been cleared more than three hours after it occurred.
The vehicle exploded in flames, according to CHP logs.
