Parts of freeways across Southern California were closing due to storm flooding, causing big problems for drivers during rush hour Friday night.
The 5 Freeway remained closed early Saturday at Lankershim Boulevard in Sunland, where as much as 3 feet of water pooled on the roadway. The lanes have since been reopened, according to Caltrans.
Burbank police also closed the northbound Buena Vista on-ramp to the 5 Freeway due to flooding.
The No. 1, 2 and 3 lanes of the southbound 5 in East Los Angeles remained closed early Saturday due to potholes, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Both directions of the 110 Freeway at Slauson Avenue reopened early Saturday morning after Caltrans closed it hours before due to flooding.
Despite warnings to stay away from the freeway, drivers still barreled through the barriers, and some vehicles got trapped in water that stood several feet high.
All road closures due to flooding in Los Angeles County were reopened by Saturday evening, according to Caltrans.
