An armed robber wearing a mask broke into a Beverly Hills home Tuesday night, surprising a couple and their guests and cleaning out a safe before fleeing in their Mercedes. KNBC's John Cadiz Klemack said the couple was entertaining guests, playing bridge, at the time of the home invasion.

The break-in near the 9900 block of Sunset Boulevard and Copley Place -- next to the Los Angeles County Club -- was reported at 10:34 p.m. Tuesday, according to a statement from the Beverly Hills Police Department.
Once inside, the robber got into a a safe and stole some cash, police told RMG News. Police declined to say how much cash was taken.
The bandit fled from the location in a vehicle taken from the home -- a silver 2001 Mercedes-Benz 430S, California license 4PFK859, police said.
When officers arrived at the scene, the occupants of the home were taken to a safe place, where paramedics treated them for minor injuries, police said.
During the burglary, the woman of the house, believed to be in her 70s, fell and hit her head, an officer told reporters at the scene.
