
An 11th-grade student at a high school in Placentia was killed Tuesday morning in a two-car crash near the school campus.
Four other people were injured in the head-on wreck just after 8 a.m. at the intersection of Yorba Linda Boulevard and Valencia Avenue, just south of El Dorado High School.
According to Placentia Police, the driver of one of the vehicles suffered major injuries and was trapped inside the vehicle. He was transported to a hospital where he died.
Zachary Blake Henn, who was 17 and lived in Yorba Linda, was killed, according to the Orange County Coroner-Sheriff's Department. He was identified as an El Dorado High School student.

“Our entire school district is overwhelmed with grief beyond words,” Superintendent Dr. Alex Cherniss said. "During this incredibly challenging time, we ask for your compassion in respecting the privacy of our student’s loved ones, and to keep them in your thoughts and prayers."
The passenger, also a juvenile, was able to exit the car by himself and was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Inside the other vehicle was a 39-year-old woman behind the wheel and two passengers. All three were transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
