16-Year-Old Arrested After Pursuit

Police determined the car was stolen.

A 16-year-old boy was arrested Friday after he was pursued in a stolen vehicle through San Bernardino.

When a deputy attempted to pull the car over for vehicle code violations around 3:30 p.m., the driver raced away headed eastward on Rialto Avenue, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner Department.

During the pursuit, the driver ran several stop signs and red lights before crashing into a signal light as he attempted to turn right on the corner of Tippecanoe Avenue and Harry Sheppard Boulevard, police added.

Three people inside the car were detained, and police determined the driver fled because he was driving a stolen vehicle, according to officials. The driver was booked into juvenile hall.
