Two men were fatally shot at a Vernon lumber yard today and a suspect was taken into custody after a short pursuit that ended in a crash, authorities said.
Vernon police were called to Bohnhoff Lumber, 3411 East 26th Street, at 9:40 a.m., according to a statement from the Vernon Police Department.
When police arrived, they saw a vehicle being driven away at a high rate of speed. Police pursued the car from Vernon to Huntington Park. The chase ended when the vehicle struck "a fixed object."
Police did not indicate a motive, but a coroner's official told KCAL9 the victims and the suspect were employees of the lumber yard.
