Part of a Southern California freeway was shut down early Friday for an investigation after shots were fired during an armed robbery in Hacienda Heights.
Video from NewsChopper4 showed at least seven law enforcement SUVs in a Denny's parking lot and the site of a motel near the 60 Freeway where an armed robbery was reported. The site is currently being converted from a Motel 6 to temporary housing.
Deputies heard shots fired in the area and fanned out in a neighborhood next to the freeway, where they located a man sought in connection with the investigation in the backyard of a home.
The man was between a wooden fence and freeway wall. An armored SWAT vehicle was positioned on the freeway near the home as authorities waited for him to surrender.
