The 26-year-old rapper, whose real name is Malcolm McCormick, was released from jail early Thursday

Rapper Mac Miller was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving Thursday following a single-vehicle crash involving a Mercedes G-Class sport utility vehicle in the Hollywood Hills area, police said.

The 26-year-old rapper, whose real name is Malcolm McCormick, was taken into custody after he allegedly left the scene of the crash, which occurred about 12:50 a.m. near Fryman and Brookdale roads, the Los Angeles Police Department reported.

According to the LAPD, the vehicle went over a curb and struck a power pole, and McCormick and his two passengers allegedly got out and ran off. Video showed the power pole leaning on utility lines above the road.
