An allegedly wanted man was shot to death by two bail bondsmen in the Santa Ana river bed in Riverside, authorities said Monday.
The shooting was reported at 5:09 p.m. Sunday east of Van Buren Boulevard, police said.
The preliminary investigation determined the bail bondsmen were conducting surveillance on a wanted man and became involved in a physical altercation with him, police said. The man was shot in the head and died at a hospital.
Police did not immediately say why the man was wanted and why the agents used deadly force.
The man's name was not released pending family notification.
