2 officers injured, 1 person in custody in South LA robbery shooting

Two Los Angeles Police Department officers were hospitalized after they were injured in a shooting during a robbery late Friday night in a South Los Angeles neighborhood.

Officers were responding to a robbery call around 9 p.m. near the intersection of Central Avenue and 92nd Street in Green Meadows. A shootout was reported between the officers and two people sought in the robbery.

One person was taken into custody after he was found hiding in a parked car. A second person was sought early Saturday.

The officers' injuries are not considered life-threatening and their conditions were stable early Saturday.

Police evacuated a nearby laundromat in a strip mall. Video showed customers running in several directions, some carrying their clothes.
