A big rig crashed onto its side early Monday on top of a 300-foot embankment off the northbound 5 Freeway in the Santa Clarita area.
The big rig smashed through a guardrail, which appeared to keep the semi-trailer truck from tumbling down the embankment near Lake Hughes Road. The driver is safe and out of the cab.
Two tow vehicles responded to the location to pull the rig upright. Lanes remained closed in the area.
