Brush fire burns 25 acres near Castaic Lake

Firefighters are battling a fire in Castaic where they were able to stop the growth of the flames. John Cádiz Klemack reports for the NBC4 News at 6 a.m. on Oct. 2, 2024. 

Firefighters have successfully stopped the growth of an approximately 25-acre brush fire in Castaic Wednesday morning. 

The fire is burning in the 33100 block of Lake Hughes Road near the northbound 5 Freeway in Castaic, the California Highway Patrol reports. 

The blaze is said to be about 50% contained.
