Fire crews Tuesday rushed to a Burbank brush fire that may have been started deliberately. This video was broadcast during the NBC4 News at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2024.

A man was arrested Tuesday after he was suspected of intentionally setting a brush fire in Burbank, which prompted voluntary evacuation orders.

The fire was reported Tuesday at around 10:30 a.m. on the hillside near Sunset Canyon and Orange Grove Avenue.

The 52-year-old suspect is believed to be a transient.

After the fire, which scorched less than five acres, was put out in about three hours, the evacuation orders were lifted.

No one was injured, and no structure was damaged, according to fire officials.

The suspect, identified as Daniel Aguilar, was arrested after a brief struggle, police said. He was booked on suspicion of arson and resisting arrest, and was being held in lieu of $75,000 bail.
