A downed cable line snarled traffic on the 90 Freeway at Culver and Centinela boulevards in the Playa Vista area for several hours Monday, according to the California High Patrol (CHP).
It was not immediately determined what caused the line to fall across both sides of the freeway at about 3 p.m. The freeway was reopened in both directions at about 10:27 p.m.
A Sig-Alert was issued for the area. Westbound traffic was backed up to the San Diego (405) Freeway, and eastbound traffic is snarled to the PCH. Motorists were advised to take Jefferson, Washington or Venice boulevards to avoid the back up.
