The suspects fled the Los Cerritos Center and two of them, a man and a woman, drove away in a vehicle and were later captured in Pico Rivera, the sheriff's department reported.

Jessie Avila, whose daughter works at the mall, alerted her of the incident.

“She messaged me, she text messaged me that there was a shooting inside the store and everywhere you can hear it," Avila told NBC4. "Everybody was running around crazy. They locked down the store. Thank God she’s safe. I mean, somebody fainted inside the store.”
