Claremont McKenna College lifted its lockdown order Thursday after police responded to what later was determined to be a swatting call. Robert Kovacik reports for the NBC4 News at 11 p.m. on March 13, 2025.
The lockdown at Claremont McKenna College was lifted Thursday night after police determined there was no active threat to the campus.
The Claremont Police Department received an emergency call from an unknown person stating they were holding someone captive in a restroom at the college campus. They also said they had a bomb and were going to walk around with a rifle and shoot anyone they saw on campus, according to Claremont police.
After a few hours, police searched the area thoroughly and found no evidence of any threat. Later authorities determined the call to be a false report or a "swatting call."
The college lifted its lockdown as of 7:30 p.m.
