What to Know About the LAUSD's Coronavirus Response: Hotlines, Student Meals, Lesson Plans

Schools in the nation's second-largest school district are closed to help prevents the spread of the novel coronavirus.

Schools in the Los Angeles Unified School District are closed until at least May 1 in response to the coronavirus pandemic.

Each student was to be provided a lesson plan on the final day of classes before the hiatus. That plan, for some, might include continuing lessons and instruction. For others, they will be given lessons and curriculum provided by the district and PBS SoCal and some will have a combination of the two.

Grab & Go Food Centers

Students can still get a nutritious meal at one of the district's grab and go food centers. They will be open from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. Here's a map.

The Dream Center also will provide meals to students. The Center is at 2301 Bellevue Ave. in Los Angeles. Here's the Monday-through-Friday schedule.

Breakfast: 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.
Lunch: 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Dinner: 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

What about special education centers?

Special education centers will close, but families will have access to services, according to the LAUSD.

What about employees?

All employees will still be paid during this time, even if they are not directly involved in providing services to students.
