The death of a 28-year-old woman, whose body was found beneath a Newport Beach bridge, has been classified as a homicide after officials found she died of a gunshot wound, police said Wednesday.
Hammour's body was discovered face-down beneath the Newport Bay Bridge on Monday morning, according to the Orange County Coroner.
Investigators with the Orange County Sheriff's Department and the Newport Beach Police Department, including divers, searched the scene in and out of the water for evidence.
It wasn't clear whether she died beneath the bridge or her body was placed ther after her death, officials said.
