The Dodgers' injuries have forced them to push prospects to the big leagues faster than they'd like.
With Juan Uribe on the disabled list, the Dodgers recalled infield prospect Erisbel Arruebarrena from Triple-A Albuquerque to not only add another solid defensive glove, but strong bat off the bench.
Infielder Carlos Triunfel was sent back down to Albuquerque to make room on the roster.
Arruebarrena joins the big league club from the Rookie-level Arizona League Dodgers where he was rehabbing a sore right shoulder.
In two previous stints with the Dodgers, the 24-year-old is hitting .313 (5 for 16) in eight games with two RBIs.
Arruebarrena made the most noise this season as the key cog in a bench-clearing brawl while playing with Albuquerque earlier in the season.
The Dodgers signed him to a five-year, $25 million contract in February.
