Two Killed in Fiery 118 Freeway Crash in Granada Hills

The freeway was closed early Monday for the crash investigation

Two people were killed early Monday in a fiery crash that led to a closure on the westbound 118 Freeway in Granada Hills.

The crash occurred at about 4 a.m. near the Reseda Boulevard exit. The crash involved a big rig and at least one vehicle, said California Highway Patrol Officer Francisco Villalobos.

"One of the vehicles is reported to have caught fire,” said Villalobos.

All the westbound lanes of the 118 Freeway were closed Monday morning. The closure led to a major backup in the Granada Hills area until the road reopened at about 9 a.m.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.  Anyone with any information regarding this crash should contact the CHP.
