Fatal Crash Victims ID'd

At least two of those killed in Saturday crash were not wearing seat belts, authorities said

Officials identified the two adults and two teens who were killed and three others who were injured in Lancaster when a car ran a stop sign and crashed into a pickup truck, a California Highway Patrol officer said.

The crash occurred at 6:25 p.m. Saturday at 10th Street East and Avenue G, the investigator at the scene said.

A 1999 Honda Civic was northbound on 10th Street East approaching Avenue G and failed to stop at a posted stop sign a the intersection, the officer said.

The Civic struck a 1997 Toyota Tacoma broadside. The pickup was eastbound on Avenue G, the officer said.

Civic driver Marissa Fritz, 22, of La Mirada, died at the scene.

The coroner's office released the names of the others killed in the crash and pronounced dead at the scene.

Brianna Heyrend and Roland Mohan, both 17, were in the Honda. Arturo Delatorre, 49, also died at the scene, according to Coroner's Investigator Kristy McCracken. It was not clear whether he was a passenger in the Tacoma.

Adrian Ruiz, 20, of La Mirada, suffered major injuries in the Honda, as did Steven Heyrend, 19, according to the CHP officer. Tacoma driver Erazmo Arroyoayala, 34, of Lancaster, also suffered major injuries.

Heyrand and Mohan were not wearing seatbelts, the CHP officer said. The injured were transported to hospitals, said Los Angles County Fire Department Dispatch Supervisor Robert Diaz.
