Fire Burns Commercial Building in Glassell Park

Firefighters contained a fire that broke out in a commercial building in the Glassell Park area of Los Angeles.

The fire was reported around 12:30 a.m. July 25 at Allsets Design and Construction in the 2500 block of San Fernando Road. Firefighters reported the blaze was contained at about 1:25 a.m.

One firefighter was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries, LAFD said.

Los Angeles Fire Department reported heavy flames were shooting through the roof of a large one story building when they arrived. Firefighters said part of the building's roof collapsed during the fire.

More than 125 firefighters were at the scene battling the blaze. Crews made gains on containing the fire and trying to prevent it from spreading to nearby buildings.

LAFD said it would remain at the scene overnight to ensure the fire would not flare up and to help with clean-up efforts.

LAFD set up a command post at the intersection of N. Hallet Avenue and San Fernando Road.
