Evacuations were ordered Monday for residents living near a fire burning north of Ojai as a punishing heatwave gripped Southern California.
The Casitas Fire burned about 188 acres in a remote area. Evacuations were ordered for fewer than 10 homes, and have since been lifted.
The order affected the areas of Santa Ana Creek and Cooper Canyon area north of Casitas Pass and Baldwin Road, west of Ranch Road.

State Route 150 was closed at the Ventura County/Santa Barbara County line. All road closures were reopened by 9:30 p.m. according to Ventura County Fire Department.
VCFD urged people with health conditions Tuesday morning to stay indoors due to poor air quality from the residual smoke lingering in the area.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
