A commercial business was totaled and two others were damaged after a fire broke out early Thursday in Van Nuys, the Los Angeles Fire Department said.
The fire was reported around 12:30 a.m. at 14937 Calvert Street in a large commercial building. The blaze produced heavy fire and was called a "major structure fire" requiring 100 be assigned to knock down the fire, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Firefighters reported the structure fire was knocked down at 2:15 a.m. It took firefighters about two hours and four minutes to knock down the blaze, firefighters said.
Officials red tagged the 44,000 square-foot commercial building, which housed a flooring company, a medical supply store and a sound stage.
"There was a lot of combustables, some flamable liquids," said LAFD Batallion Chief Albert Valle, adding that crews were assessing the damage and hoped to save some materials.
One firefighter was treated for exertion but returned to fight the blaze.
No other injuries were reported, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

An arson investigation will be conducted to determine the cause of the fire.
