A Hemet police officer investigating a pre-dawn break-in at a fish market today was injured when his patrol car was struck by the suspected getaway vehicle, police said.
Two men in the vehicle and another suspect subsequently were taken into custody, but two other suspects remained at large, according to authorities.
Davon Tyrise Jones, 20, of San Jacinto; Derrick Ashley Heisser, 19, of Moreno Valley, and Joseph Anthony Hernandez were to be booked into the county jail on suspicion of burglary, according to Hemet police Lt. Mark Richards.
Police were sent about 3 a.m. to El Toro Fish Market, 2050 E. Florida Ave., to investigate an activated alarm, Richards said.
Officers found the front doors of the business smashed open and then spotted a suspect running away, Richards said. The suspect then jumped over a fence.
As an officer in a patrol car was looking for that suspect, a Toyota with its headlights off crashed into the passenger side of the cruiser in the alley behind the business, Richards said.
The officer took the two people in the Toyota into custody. Another suspect was nabbed in the 200 block of Mayflower Avenue, a few blocks from the fish market.

The person seen jumping over the fence and another suspect got away, police said.
Traffic investigators said that the collision with the Toyota was not deliberately caused by the suspects, Richards said.
The officer complained of neck pain but finished his shift, the lieutenant said.
Booking information was not immediately available.
