Hef Files for Divorce

Attorney asks a judge set spousal support at no more than $20,000 per month

Playboy magazine publisher Hugh Hefner has filed for divorce from Kimberly Conrad to formally put an end to their relationship 11 years after their separation.

Hefner filed documents in Los Angeles County Superior Court on Friday, citing irreconcilable differences as the reason for the breakup with the mother of his sons Marston, 19, and Cooper, 17.

Hefner, 83, is asking that that a judge set spousal support for Conrad at no more than $20,000 per month, saying he has paid her almost $12 million since 1998.

Relations between Hefner and Conrad have been strained in recent months after the Playboy boss sold the house next door to his Holmby Hills mansion, where Conrad and his two sons had been living.

Last month, Conrad, who married Hefner in 1989, sued him in Los Angeles Superior Court, alleging he has not honored their pre-nuptial agreement and owes her more than $5 million.

Conrad, 47, was Playboy's Playmate of the Year in 1989.
