List of SoCal Event Closures, Cancellations and Changes Caused by Coronavirus Outbreak

With the outbreak of the coronavirus COVID-19, many organizers in Southern California have canceled or postponed their events, particularly after Gov. Gavin Newsom ordered Wednesday that gatherings of 250 people or more should be avoided until at least the end of March.
Furthermore, many cities and favorited locations have announced temporary closures.
Here are some of the closures, cancelations and postponements that have been announced in Southern California:

Archdiocese of Los Angeles: Recognizing the grave cause of the current public health emergency, Archbishop José H. Gomez has dispensed all the Catholic faithful of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles and all Catholics currently in the Archdiocese from the obligation of attending Sunday Mass for the weekends of March 14-15, March 21-22, and March 28-29.
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints: All public gatherings of church members suspended worldwide until further notice, including public worship services and leadership conferences. Bishops will determine how to make the sacrament available
Congregational Church of Chatsworth: Sunday services and luncheons canceled through March. Sermons will be videotaped and posted on the church's website.
Dana Point Festival of Whales: Weekend two of the festival has been canceled. Scheduled whale watching trips will continue.

Movies, Shows and Performances:
American Cinematheque is suspending all screenings and public events at the Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood and the Aero Theatre in Santa Monica effective as of Friday, March 13, 2020 until further notice.
"Hamilton": Performances at the Hollywood Pantages Theatre suspended through the end of March.
LA Chamber Orchestra: Baroque Conversations performances on March 12 and 13 postponed; "Ravel, Strauss, + Contreras" concerts on March 28 and 29 canceled. The "Lucha Libre!" concert remains unaffected.
McCallum Theatre: All performances suspended through the end of April.
"Mulan": Release postponed until further notice.
The Music Center: Theatres (Ahmanson Theatre, Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, Mark Taper Forum and Walt Disney Concert Hall) have been closed until at least March 31.
The Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts in Beverly Hills canceled all productions, presentations, public gatherings and educational programs through March 31, including "Romantics Anonymous,'' "Emil and the Detectives'' and Johnny Gandelsman's Complete Bach Cello Suites concert on violin.
Sports:
ANA Inspiration Golf Tournament: Rescheduled for later in the 2020 season.
The Broad Museum: Closed from March 13 to at least the end of the month.
Burbank: Some large city events on or before the end of the month, including the Egg-Sight-Ment in the Wild, are suspended; other events, such as the Youth Art Expo Opening Receptions and Spring Egg-Stravaganza, have been canceled. The Tuttle Senior Center is closed beginning March 16 and all city sports and aquatic programs are suspended until the end of the month.
Battleship IOWA Museum is instituting a temporary public closure beginning today, Friday, March 13, with an estimated reopening on March 28.
Descanso Gardens has decided to operate as an outdoor-only venue until the situation is safe again. This means the Boddy House and Sturt Haaga Gallery will be closed through April. All indoor programming and events through March 31 will be canceled or re-imagined as outdoor events.
The City of El Monte has canceled all city-planned events for the month of March, along with several centers used by the seniors.
Huntington Library: All public events canceled through May 31. Exhibition halls, art galleries and botanical gardens remain open.
LA City Hall: Mayor Garcetti says LA City Hall will be closed to non-city employees, orders the cancellation of all city gatherings of 50 people or more.
LA City Parks: Recreation centers (including Griffith Observatory, EXPO Center and Travel town) canceled, programming closed through April 4; outdoor park space remains open.
LA County Jails: Visiting hours suspended until further notice, starting March 13; only attorney and professional visits allowed. Patrol station jails retain normal operations.
LA County Library: All locations are closed starting March 14 at 5 p.m. until Tuesday, March 31.
LA Zoo: Closed to the public starting March 13 through the end of the month.
Long Beach: All large-scale city events through April 30 (including Disney on Ice, Jim Jeffries/AEG, Grand Prix 5k and Walk for Kids) canceled or rescheduled. Schools, workplaces, movie theaters and theme parks remain unaffected by the declaration.
Malibu: All non-essential city events and programs canceled through April 30.
Natural History Museums of Los Angeles County: Natural History Museum, La Brea Tar Pits Museum and William S. Hart Museum closed to the public starting March 14 until further notice. All scheduled events and programs through April 10 postponed or canceled.
OC Fair & Event Center: Temporarily canceled large events.
Palm Springs: Public library closed starting March 13, VillageFest and adult recreation programs suspended until further notice.
Palm Springs: The tram will be closed through March.
Disneyland announced Thursday that both Disneyland and California Adventure would be closing beginning Saturday through the end of the month. Disney hotels were to remain open through Monday.
Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Orlando Resort announced Thursday that they would be closed. The Hollywood park will shutter March 14-28, while the Orlando site will close starting from the end of the day on March 15 through the end of the month. Both CityWalks and Universal Orlando hotels will remain open. Bravo's Top Chef Food & Wine Festival at Universal Studios Hollywood has been postponed.
Knott's Berry Farm: Beginning Saturday, Knott's Berry Farm will close through the end of the month. There have been no confirmed cases of COVID-19 on the property. The Knott's Berry Farm Hotel will remain open. Refunds or re-bookings can be requested by emailing info@knotts.com.
SkyPark at Santa's Village will be closed until April 2.
Alterra Mountain Company ski resorts: Operations are suspended at Squaw Valley Alpine Meadows, Mammoth Mountain, June Mountain and Big Bear Mountain Resort.
