LA County Sheriff's Deputy Found After Disappearing From Crash Scene

The sheriff’s deputy who was arrested after crashing a patrol vehicle in Stevenson Ranch has been identified. As seen on air on Aug. 27. 2022.

An LA County Sheriff's deputy squad car was found crashed in Stevenson Ranch but the deputy was not inside the vehicle.

The deputy, identified by LASD as deputy Carlos Lopez, was located after the collision and was arrested for suspicion of driving while under the influence of alcohol, according to authorities.

The crash occurred at Pico Canyon Road and Southern Oaks Drive in Stevenson Ranch at around 9:30 p.m.

The deputy was later transported to Henry Mayo Hospital to be evaluated.

The crash did not involve any other vehicles and it did not appear that any other person was injured.

The deputy has since been relieved of duty, according to authorities.

It is unclear how the crash occurred.
