A man who was wanted for assault with a deadly weapon and barricaded himself inside an East Los Angeles home for several hours has surrendered to authorities on Saturday.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Special Enforcement Bureau arrived at the 3900 block of Gleason Street where a man with a deadly weapon was reported to be barricaded inside at around 12:40 p.m.
According to the LASD, the man was wanted in connection with a murder that happened earlier in the week. The man had carjacked someone on Saturday morning and led a pursuit before barricading himself inside a random home.
Personnel with the LASD assumed tactical command as their Crisis Negotiation Team (CNT) attempted to make contact with the man and “bring this to a peaceful conclusion.”
