A man was killed in a four vehicle accident that closed the southbound 5 freeway in Boyle Heights on Saturday morning.
A black Honda Civic, an SUV, an additional sedan and a jackknifed big rig were all involved in the 1:20 a.m. incident, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The Los Angeles Fire Department were on the scene. There was one fatality and another woman was transported to hospital with injuries, and it is also unknown what caused the accident.
The freeway reopened at 5 a.m, however the southbound transition to the I-10 remains closed due to a damaged guard rail.
