Man Wounded in Pico-Union Laundromat Shooting

A man was wounded Wednesday afternoon in a shooting during an argument in the Pico-Union area and a suspect was taken into custody.

The shooting was reported about 5 p.m. in the 2300 block of Pico Boulevard, between Hoover Street and Vermont Avenue, according to Los Angeles police Officer Mike Lopez.

The victim was taken to a hospital, Lopez said. His condition was not immediately available.

The shooter, who is about 35 years old, did not flee and was taken into custody, Lopez said.

The shooting was not believed to have been gang-related, Lopez said.
