A man and two children were killed early Monday morning when their car crashed into a parked big rig off the side of the Golden State (5) Freeway near Castaic Lake.
According to California Highway Patrol, the three were killed when their white Honda sedan drove into the back of the truck, which was parked in a brake check area off of the freeway around 1 a.m.
The three have not yet been identified.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
