Police are searching for a man who is accused of shooting a Metro employee early Saturday during her break in East Hollywood. As seen on air on Nov. 16, 2024.
A Metro employee was shot early Saturday during her break in East Hollywood in what the transportation company described as an “act of domestic violence.”
The shooting was reported around 7:30 a.m. in the 1600 block of N. Vermont Avenue, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. There, a Metro employee was shot in the face by an ex-boyfriend. She was taken to a local hospital and is in critical condition, according to police.
“Metro appreciates the quick response by the Los Angeles Fire Department, which transported our employee to a nearby hospital,” the transportation company said in a statement.
Prior to the shooting, the victim was on the sidewalk during a bus layover on her break, at which time she met with the suspect. The gunman, who was identified as 45-year-old Dorian Holt, then opened fire on the victim and fled the scene after shooting her.

Metro did not release the name of the employee who was shot. It described her role as a driver. Police added that she was a woman whose age ranged from 50 to 60 years.
Holt remains on the loose. He was last seen wearing a black sweatshirt, dark pants, and a black baseball cap with a white LA logo.
