A fight in the Mid-City area Friday afternoon left one person dead, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
LAPD spokesman Richard French said the incident started as a fight involving multiple people about 12:40 p.m. near Venice Boulevard and 12th Street in the Arlington Heights neighborhood.
The victim, identified only as a man, entered a car and then two shooters opened fire, killing the victim, French said.
A tow truck operator hauled away a Nissan Altima riddled with bullet holes that had crashed into a building near Bronson Avenue and Venice Boulevard.
The victim's body was removed by the coroner about 5 p.m.
Authorities have not divulged a motive in the shooting and are unsure if it is gang related.
The two at-large shooters are described as Hispanic males, French said.
